IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT BCAA DOSAGE
Two questions often arise concerning our BCAA tablets:
- Why is the dosage 10 tablets per serving?
- Why tablets instead of a powder?
To answer both these questions it’s important to identify who we serve (our primary customers) and how they approach optimal nutrition as it relates to their, and most likely, your world.
WHY TABLETS: First off, the primary customers of our formulations are either professional / amateur athletes and/or dedicated fitness enthusiasts and active lifestyle participants.
In other words, these are NOT people involved with inconsistent, on-again, off-again casual workout schedules. Instead, they are serious about their healthy lifestyle and workout routines.
As such they typically have a “knowledge base” in regard to their own nutritional requirements. They eat clean. And, they also tend to “stack” their supplementation (combining formulations at a single sitting) in order to meet their individual workout and lifestyle protocol.
Most athletes and fitness enthusiasts typically ingest Whey Protein directly after their workouts in order to immediately begin their muscle recovery process.
Premium Whey Protein formulations, like ours, already incorporate powdered BCAAs as part of the ingredient structure. However, for many, the amount of BCAAs in the protein powder is not enough. So, they choose to “stack” the additional BCAAs.
But, the body can only absorb a certain amount of anything at any given time. Therefore, we intentionally created tablets as they will take a little longer to breakdown and thus, be available for delayed absorption when to body is prepared for further uptake. It’s sort of a manual “time-release” protocol allowing for optimal uptake of BCAAs.
DOSAGE: All nutritional supplement formulators and manufacturers are required by FTC compliance to indicate on the label a “serving size” as well as how this relates to “daily value percentages” of a 2,000 calorie daily menu plan.
However, the serving size assumes this is your ONLY source. So, right off the bat, it is a bit confusing.
If you are a non-vegetarian athlete, you are most likely already ingesting BCAA from natural sources such as fish, chicken and eggs. Then, you add the Whey Protein Powder.
So, many athletes and fitness enthusiasts are best served with just a post workout dosage of just 3-5 tablets depending on size and caloric intake.
Some will prefer to ingest BCAAs both pre- and post- workout. That is an individual choice.
If a pre-workout dosage is selected, then it should be ingested at least 30-minutes before the workout/event along with plenty of water to help with breakdown and to increase absorption.
